Lab Reports

At AscendRx, analytical precision is not a footnote — it is the foundation. Every compound that leaves our facility carries with it a verifiable chain of identity, purity, and integrity. Our Certificates of Analysis represent the crystalline standard by which we measure ourselves: absolute transparency, zero ambiguity, and an unwavering commitment to the researchers who depend on the quality of our materials.

What Is a Certificate of Analysis?

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a formal, batch-specific document that details the results of analytical testing performed on a given compound lot. Each COA includes the product name, batch or lot number, date of manufacture, date of analysis, and the quantified results of every test performed. For research-grade peptides and compounds, COAs serve as the primary record of purity, identity, and composition — the essential data that allows investigators to trust the substrate they introduce into their experimental protocols.

Unlike simple specification sheets, a properly executed COA provides traceable, reproducible data points. It is the document a researcher consults before committing weeks of work to an experiment, and the document they reference when publishing results. At AscendRx, we consider the COA as sacred as the compound itself — a luminous record of molecular truth, etched in data.

Why Third-Party Testing Matters

Internal quality control is necessary but insufficient. True analytical rigor demands independent verification — testing performed by accredited laboratories with no financial stake in the outcome. AscendRx submits compounds for third-party analysis because we believe that trust cannot be self-issued. Every claim we make about purity and identity is substantiated by an independent set of instruments, technicians, and protocols operating outside our walls.

Third-party testing eliminates the conflicts of interest inherent in self-reported data. It introduces an external layer of accountability that elevates the entire supply chain. When you review an AscendRx COA bearing third-party validation, you are not reading our opinion of our product — you are reading an objective analytical verdict rendered by an independent scientific authority.

Analytical Methodologies

Our testing protocols employ the gold-standard techniques expected of pharmaceutical-adjacent analytical chemistry. Each methodology targets a specific dimension of compound quality, and together they form a comprehensive portrait of every batch we release.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

HPLC is the cornerstone of peptide purity analysis. By separating a sample into its constituent components through a pressurized solvent system and stationary phase column, HPLC quantifies the relative abundance of the target compound against any impurities, degradation products, or synthesis byproducts. AscendRx requires a minimum purity threshold of ≥98% for all released peptide lots, with many compounds exceeding 99%. Each COA includes the full HPLC chromatogram, retention times, and calculated purity percentage.

Mass Spectrometry (MS)

Mass spectrometry provides definitive molecular weight confirmation. By ionizing the sample and measuring the mass-to-charge ratio of resulting fragments, MS verifies that the compound’s observed molecular weight matches its theoretical value. This is the analytical equivalent of a fingerprint — it confirms that the molecule is what it claims to be. Our COAs report the observed mass, theoretical mass, and any relevant fragmentation patterns.

Identity Verification & Appearance Testing

Beyond chromatographic and spectrometric analysis, each batch undergoes visual and physical inspection: lyophilized powder appearance, solubility characteristics, and pH measurements where applicable. These supplementary tests ensure that no macroscopic anomalies have escaped the more granular analytical methods. Identity verification cross-references all analytical results against the compound’s known reference profile to confirm a positive match.
